A New Chapter at Myddfai
Students are back, production is running, and our new space is already making a difference.
Following on from our recent update about the improvements to our building, we’re delighted to share that everything is now fully operational again here at Myddfai.
After several weeks of renovation work to our offices and manufacturing unit, production is back up to full speed and, most importantly, our work experience programme has resumed. The team and students have returned, bringing the building back to life.
This week we were thrilled to welcome students back from several of the organisations we work closely with, including Ysgol Bro Dinefwr – Canolfan Cothi, Victoria House, Glasallt Fawr, Elidyr Communities Trust, Ysgol Penmaes, Coleg Sir Gâr Ammanford, Clynsaer House and Cartref Croeso. Each of these organisations supports individuals with a wide range of learning needs, and it’s a privilege for us to be able to offer meaningful work experience as part of their journey.

Expanding Our Commitment to Inclusive Work Experience
As we enter our 16th year as a social enterprise, January has been an incredibly busy and important time for us. We have been investing in modifying and updating our building to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the people and communities we support. This significant investment reflects our long-term commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive work experience opportunities.
Over the years, we have proudly welcomed students and participants from a wide range of organisations, including Ysgol Bro Dinefwr – Canolfan Cothi, Victoria House, Glasallt Fawr, Elidyr Communities Trust, Ysgol Penmaes, Coleg Sir Gâr Ammanford, Clynsaer House and Cartref Croeso. Supporting learners from diverse backgrounds has always been at the heart of our social purpose.
Previously, limited space meant we could support only three to four students at a time, alongside their support staff. By running both morning and afternoon sessions, we were able to work with up to 40 individuals across a full week, but demand regularly exceeded what our facilities could comfortably accommodate.
Following this major investment, we are delighted to have completed a brand-new work experience room that can comfortably seat up to 10 people. The new space is brighter, more practical, and designed to create a positive and supportive working environment, enabling us to increase capacity while improving the quality of the experience for everyone involved.
We can’t wait to welcome students back in February and show them the changes. This investment has been a substantial one for us as a social enterprise, but we firmly believe it will make a lasting difference to the people we support and the opportunities we are able to offer as we move forward into our 16th year.
